Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

What is the reference for the Regulation introducing this policy?

AWe are not aware of any regulations which will require recovery vehicles to be plated and tested in 1972.

In fact, in the Goods Vehicles (Plating and Testing) Regulations 1971 which came into operation on April 1 1971 superseding the 1968 regulations of the same name, breakdown vehicles are still shown as being a class of vehicle to which the regulations do not apply.

This exemption is to be found under item 3 of Schedule 2 to the regulations.

We consider the term break-down vehicle to mean any vehicle designed or converted for use as a recovery vehicle and not used for any other purpose. A normal goods carrying vehicle used occasionally for towing broken-down vehicles would not, obviously, conform to the term break-down vehicle.
