IVFORE than 4,200 men employed in the London Transport Board's bus workshops have been awarded a pay rise of 3+ per cent, back-dated to the beginning of October. The agreement will also give them further rise of 31 per cent in October next year. Cost to London Transport of the settlement is estimated to amount to £100,000 in a full year.

The agreement follows the lines of the interim settlement reached recently, first for main line railwaymen and subsequently by men employed on London's Underground.

There may be further additional payments later when the National Board for Prices and Incomes, which is now studying the railwaymen's full claim, makes its report towards the end of this month or early next month.
