THE national council of the Traders
Road Transport Association has decided to increase annual subscription rates as from January 1, 1966. The new rates (with the existing rates in brackets) are as follows:— Initial subscription, including first vehicle, £2 10s. (£2 2s.) if light vehicles only operated; otherwise £3 15s. (£3 3s.).
Vehicles rates, per vehicle operated: Light vehicles up to 1 ton unladen weight, 7s. (6s.); medium—over 1 ton to 3 tons, 10s. 6d. (9s.); heavy—over 3 tons, 17s. 6d. (15s.). On average these new rates show an increase of only 40 per cent over those prevailing in 1945.
London-Italy Road Services: Channel Road Services (a Hay's Wharf subsidiary) has formed an association with an Italian company, Valperga Schiassi, a subsidiary of Odino Valperga italeuropa Ltd. A regular
weekly grotmage " from Milan, Turin. Trieste and Genoa will be guaranteed by Valperga Italeuropa. Parcels of just a few kg. upwards will be accepted and trailers will leave from Milan every Wednesday and from London every Friday.
