Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ROYAL MAIL, which operates one of the biggest fleets of commercial vehicles on UK roads, is expected to choose trucks which are equipped with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to meet the Euro-4 emissions regulations during its next fleetreplacement cycle. The group has been trialling the two nval technologies, SCR and EGR (exhaust gas recirculation), from Oaf and MAN respectively. Reports elsewhere suggested it was favouring the FOR option after SCR performed badly.

However, CM has been told by staff involved in the evaluations at the Millbrook proving grounds that it will plump for SCR thanks to impressive fuel economy and the Chesterfield, Derbys-based purchasing team's loyalty to Oaf, which already has a large presence on the Royal Mail fleet.

A Royal Mail spokesperson says a final decision has yet to be made as trials continue, In any case the implications of this decision won't be felt for at least two years. Royal Mail invested heavily in trucks with analogue tachographs ahead of the digital implementation deadline and currently has no digitachequipped trucks on its fleet.
