Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Parcels delivery firm White Express Carriers has gone into receivership with "very substantial debts", and the entire workforce has been made redundant.

More than 130 staff received their redundancy notices on 3 July — the day before the firm's annual two-week holiday. Receiver Pannell Kerr Forster says the company had appointed a new director at the beginning of the year and had pushed for market growth with the purchase of several subsidiaries.

"Poor management, poor cash-flow and ridiculous underpricing meant the push for market growth just didn't pay off," it says. White Express Carriers had subsidiaries in Doncaster, Poole, Huntingdon, Wrexham and Cumbria; all operating under the banner of lnterex.

These subsidiaries are now insolvent and many customers will have to wait until the receivers have finished their work before goods can be reclaimed.

White Express Carriers is based in Mill Lane Industrial Estate, Glenfield, Leicester. It operates a fleet of some 20 vehicles and was set up two years ago.
