Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• AWD has developed its first six-wheeler TL17-18 with a gross vehicle weight up from 17 to 21 tonnes.

It will join flower delivery specialist Rigby Hauliers of Sutton St James in Lincolnshire, which already operates Bedford Us.

Conversion of the standard 6.31m TL17-18 chassis-cab was handled by Baico Engineering of Hoddesdon, Herts. After stretching the chassis by 1524m, Baico fitted a Granning tag axle which is fitted with load sensing valves and lifts automatically once the vehicle has been unloaded.

The chassis-cab is being fitted with a 9m temperaturecontrolled box body, formerly used on one of Rigby's Bedford TL 16-tonners.

Modifications have boosted the payload by three tonnes. The conversion costs around £7,000, but the extra axle does reduce the annual road fund licence. The six-wheel TL was supplied by AWD distributor Main Road Garage of Spalding.
