• Perkins Engines is considering selling its components division to Parkfield, described as "a major components supplier" in a formal statement issued by the Peterboroughbased engine builder.
The components business is based at Walton in Peterborough, where 430 staff produce aluminium machine parts, pipework, gears and flywheels for Perkins, along with the components for outside companies.
Perkins says: "If the deal is confirmed the employees at Walton will be transferred."
