OVER 400 volunteers have applied for service in Western Sudan in response to C/41's appeal on behalf of the Save the Children Fund.

Radio and television stations around the country took up the appeal and requests for application forms are still flooding in_ Interviews for the best qualified applicants will begin shortly. The greatest single response came from National Freight Consortium managers for the post of distribution manager in Durfur.

Not all companies have the manpower resources to release people for service but there is now another urgent requirement_ We need gifts of hand tools and garage equipment. The requirement covers complete mechanics tool kits, sack barrows, fork lift trucks, cranes, axle stands, lathes, compressors, lubrication equipment and a beam setter.
