LORRY FREIGHT grew by 6.5 per cent between 1983 and 1984, Department of Transport statistics reveal.
In its statistical bulletin on road freight in 1984, the DTp's survey of weekly journey details of a sample of 350 vehicles shows that there was a rise from 90.7bn tonne/km in 1983 to 96.6bn tonne/km.
