Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I have to tell you that the documents which were presented to the unions by LRT at the meeting at which it initially outlined its proposals, made clear in writing that bonuses would be withdrawn for any reasons of absence and no exceptions would be made.

However, in an effort to intimidate our members on the eve of the ballot the chairman of London Buses wrote to all employees indicating that bonuses would not be withdrawn for certain specific reasons of absence which they were willing to negotiate.

It is therefore London Transport who by its change of position has misled the employees and to prove the point we did, in fact, display on the notice boards the two conflicting statements received from LRT in written form.

In the interests of balance and fairness one would normally have expected this letter to be printed in order to correct the false impression given in your article, but I suspect on reflection we may just be asking too much in expecting balance and fairness towards the trade unions from Commercial Motor.
