Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

from a local club on a Continental holiday. I understand that I must comply with Common Market Regulations but does this mean that if I drive then 1 must have a psv licence?

ABritish drivers of passenger vehicles

equipped to carry 10 or more persons including the driver must comply with Regulations (EEC 543/69) of the European Economic Community. These Regulations apply for international journeys within the Community including that part which is undertaken in the United Kingdom. A booklet (Int. PI) explaining the requirements of the Regulations can be obtained from the Department of the Environment. Marsham St, London SW1, or from any traffic office.

If you are over 21 years of age, hold a British driving licence, and have had not less than one year's driving experience then you may drive the vehicle which you have hired. You need to apply to any traffic area office for a certificate showing that you have satisfied the Department of the Environment that you fulfil the conditions laid down. There is an official form for this purpose and it must be accompanied by your current driving licence when the application is made.

Drivers holding a psv or heavy goods vehicle driving licence do not need a certificate.
