Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

In an altogether different sphere, ZF has combined with Siemens to produce a novel electric wheel hub motor for application to off-the-road dump trucks, heavy construction plant and the like. Use of this type of traction allows vehicle designers to dispense with conventional drive lines and with the complexity of power transmission from engine to road wheels. Although the principle of electric wheeldrives is of course as old as the motor industry, the ZF-Siemens design, only just off the test bench, incorporates several features in which the ZF lead in gear technology is expressed. The prototype shown last month is intended for a 10-ton wheel load — on 18-22.5 tyres — and uses a final drive through a planetary hub reduction of the type made by Z.P. (Zahnradfabrik Passau) which is the ZF axle plant.
