• A children's competition with prizes awarded to children who travel the greatest distance in a day is currently being run by Eastern Counties Bus Company.
The scheme is designed to interest children under 14 in the possibilities of bus travel using a "Wanderbus" ticket which gives unlimited travel on the day of issue. The ticket costs 30p.
Wanderbus was introduced in May with adult tickets at 50p. The scheme is said to be particularly popular with retired people.
