• Dick Insoll, director of the Wine and Spirit Association, and at one time secretary of the RHA's International Group, has been awarded by the Chartered Institute of Transport a Commercial Motor Users Association Road Transport Research Fellowship. The purpose of the Fellowship is to review, and report on, the practical operation of EEC transport quotas and licensing, documentation, the Community Transit System, Regulation 1769 (Accompanying Documents), and Regulations 1559 and 1770, as regards roll-on/roll-off traffic in wine. The project will include "on the ground" studies of the Dover/Dunkirk route, also Felixstowe, Southampton, and Shoreham.

Mr Insoll is a member of the CIT (by examination and special thesis on international goods transport). He has been concerned with roll-on /roll-off since the "pioneering" period of the early 1960's.
