Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• R. K. Crisp, the haulage subsidiary of Richards and Wallington Industries, has announced an agreement to purchase a French haulage company, Centrale Routier SA.

The price, £50,000, includes the fleet of 10 vehicles and premises at Le Havre. Centrale operates TIR tilt vehicles throughout France and the other EEC countries and has the all important "red and green" French haulage licences.

R. K. Crisp operates some 200 vehicles, many of them in TIR work, With its close connections to Richards and Wallington, the crane and plant hire group, the company has tended to specialize in the carriage of abnormal loads — although only about 20 per cent of its work is done for the group.

The management team of the French company will be unaffected by the takeover with the exception of the appointment of Crisp's managing director, Mr K. J. Matthews, as director generale.
