Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

By Chris Tindatt TRUCK SECURITY firm Viper Guard is calling for inventors and innovators to get in touch with their ideas, so it can help get them to market.

The commercial vehicle safety and security firm, which produces the cab security product Lokgard. says it already receives calls from would-be designers who are keen to develop their security ideas, but have no means of doing so.

Viper Guard general manager Debbie Jones says it occurred to the company that it could encourage people to get in touch so it could assess their ideas.

"We know from experience there are many designers and manufacturers out there with innovative concepts and designs that, for one reason or another, they've never brought to market," she says. "The industry's battle against crime is unceasing, and constant innovation is the best way to make sure we stay one jump ahead of the criminal."

The Warwickshire-based firm says it is distributing a growing number of safety and security products, such as anti-siphon devices, trailer door locks and kingpin locks. Jones says it is already in the process of designing a couple of products suggested by people outside the company, and it will make any sales success worth their while.

"It isn't about finding out what's out there and pinching ideas," says Jones. -We will act fairly. If we just take the product on. we will take a commission of all sales.

"If someone brings a new idea to us, we will come to a proper agreement."
