Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I Police are hunting a driver who set light to a speed camera k on the A605 in Thrapston in Northamptonshire; the third incident involving damage to speed cameras on this stretch of road over the past few months.

The incident happened between 12.30am and 12.46am on Saturday 29 March. The first occurred last year when offenders stole a camera by sawing it from its post; in February, another camera was blown up (CM 20-26 February.) Police believe that these incidents may be linked but are still examining evidence.

Chief superintendent Stuart Kilpatrick says that the behaviour of this person is totally irresponsible: "This road is one of the most dangerous roads in the county, with 29 people killed or seriously injured over the last three years. By rendering the camera ineffective, the offender is increasing the risk to his own life and the lives of fellow motorists. Vandalism: A growing trend.

"Rather than reducing speed enforcement along this stretch, the damage to the camera will actually increase Our vigilance and we will now consider using the mobile safety cameras to ensure the safety of motorists."
