PROPOSALS are being developed for the conveyance by road of dangerous goods and explosives and for the conveyance and storage of dangerous goods in port areas.

Announcing this in the Commons, Junior Transport Minister Reginald Eyre, added that Mr Howell was awaiting proposals from the Health and Safety Commission on these matters.

Mr Eyre recalled that the Commission had announced a programme for reviewing existing regulations and the possible need for new measures on the transport of dangerous substances. A plan of work had been agreed with the Department.
