Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A RANGE of anaerobic sealants and adhesives have been made by SK Variform Products of Manchester. The company has just introduced the Berger Three Bond 1300 series products formulated for the chemical sealing of threaded fasteners and for the assembly of metal parts.

The series consists of single component, high polymer-based materials which cure rapidly without shrinkage when applied at room temperature. Nine grades are available giving a choice of gap-filling and strength characteristics which efficiently seal and lock together various types of threaded screws, bolts and other co-axil fasteners.

Additional applications are for retaining fitted parts, such as bearings, gears and pulleys, in position, as well as the sealing of threaded pipe joints and flanges on hydraulic systems, petrol and oil pipes.

The company claims that there is greater tolerance of mating components when using these anaerobic materials thus giving a saving in valuable production time by the reduction of machining operations.
