Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A short while ago we recorded in our columns the fact that the Caerphilly Chamber of Trade had passed a resolution calling upon the local urban district council to consider the advisability of transferring the operation of its bus undertaking to a private company.

A New Kaye Oiler.

The name of Joseph Kaye and Sons, Ltd., Lock Works, Leeds, is well known in connection with the production of a most useful range of forced-feed oilcans, and it is interesting to learn that the company has lately introduced a new model oiler which is specially suitable for owner-drivers. It is constructed on the well-known Kaye seam

less sYstem, the container having serrated edges which are soldered to the cover, the same method of construction being used for fixing the spout. A feature of the new oiler is that it is capable of ejecting a stream of lubricant a distance of 12 ft., and although this is obviously not necessary it illustrates its power for delivering a supply of oil to parts which may not be easy to reach. The new oiler sells at 6s. 9d. and can be supplied with a carrier into which it fits neatly, being held secure by a spring chi).

At a meeting of the Chorley Corporation Markets and Town Hall Committee the chairman (Alderman Hodkinson) explained' that the meeting had been called for the purpose of hearing the representations of certain motorbus proprietors in regard to the charges which the corporation has imposed for the use of the stand on the Cattle Market.

Mr. Fazackerley, solicitor, of Preston, along with certain proprietors, attended before the committee and stated fully the objections concerning the amount of the charges, which were considered to be excessive.

The committee decided to recommend that the principle of charging for the use of the stand on the Cattle Market, according to the number of buses necessary to maintain an organized service, in accordance with the approved timetable, be adhered to, but that the =bunt of the charges (£10 to nonratepayers and £7 10s. to ratepayers) be reduced to .£5, whether the proprietors are ratepayers or not,
