Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE range of air compressors produced by Tecalemit, Ltd,, Plymouth, has been widened by the addition of three small units having piston displacements of 2.7, 5 and 6.5 c.f.m.

The 2.7 c.f.m. and 5 c.f.m, compressors are single-stage units and powered by h.p. and 1 h.p. motors, respectively, maximum working pressure being 150 psi. As they are mounted on vertical receivers, a floor space of only 1 ft. 6 in. square is required.

Air cooling is used for the two-stage 6.5 c.f.m. model, which is driven by a 14 h.p. motor. The horizontal receiver employed measures 1 ft. 3 in. by 3 ft. 8 in.

Prices are 2.7 c.f.m. model with threephase motor, £77; with single-phase motor or D.C. motor, 188. 5 elm. model with three-phase motor. £105; with single-phase or D.C. motor, £112. 6.5 c.f.m. model with three-phase motor, £136; with singlephase motor, £147.

Swiss Accessories for U.K.

DISTRIBUTION of the Swiss-made Wanner grease guns and accessories, and the Reilang twin-pump precision pressure oil gun in this country, has now been taken over by Step Industrial Equipment, Ltd., Potten End, Berkhamsted, Herts.

The Wanner grease gun is designed for one-handed use, and a pressure of 5,000 psi. can be obtained with ease. it costs £4 8s. The twin-pump precision pressure oil gun is available in three models with capacities of 1 pt., 4 pt., and 4 pl.. costing ft 17s. 6d., £1 12s. 6d. and £1 7s. 6c1., respectively.

Self-contained Fire Alarm A FULLY automatic fire alarm that .1-1. does not require wires, batteries or mains electricity is now available from Evered and Co.. Ltd., Surrey Works, Smethwiek, 40, Staffs. It costs £1 5s. 6d. The clockwork mechanism is simple and held in check with a special low-meltingpoint fuse, which melts at I2Y F. to set off the alarm.

When the alarm has run down, an indicator comes into view showing that the alarm is not in working order, and that it requires to be re-wound and re-set with the fusible link.

New Oil Additive RECOGNTZED as an outstanding lubricant, molybdenum disulphide is now being prepared in colloidal form, to be the complete ot additive suitable for all applications, by Sena Ltd., .22 Charlwood Street, London, S.W.1.

Known as Addi-V.J., the new, additive, when added to any ordinary lubricating oil, is stated to increase the film strength of the oil and enable it to withstand high temperatures and loads without breaking.

It is claimed that, because of other constituents in the additive as well as the molybdenum disulphide, the oil is no longer highly stressed and its effective life is prolonged. Reductions in fuel consumption of 7-15 per cent., depending on the vehicle and its condition, are said to be average figures. Other by-products of reduced internal friction mentioned are improved acceleration, hill-climbing and maximum speeds.

Floor-marking Tape PRESSURE-SENSITIVE vinyl plastics tape suitable for marking factory, garage and warehouse floors is now available from the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Co., Ltd., 3M House, Wigmore Street, London, W.I.

Known as Scotchhoy No. 471 Lane Marking Tape, the new product can, it is stated, be laid readily on almost any clean, dry and hard surface that is not roughly pitted. The tape is white and can be obtained in widths varying from 4-in. to 4 in. in 36-yd. rolls. Once laid, it offers resistance to oil, water, caustics, acids and most commercial solvents.

New Lightweight Hoist A PORTABLE hoist Weighing only PA. 33 lb. and having a capacity of I ton, is announced by the Yale and Towne Manufacturing Co., Vv'ednesfield, Wolverhampton, Staffs. Light alloy is used

extensively in conjunction with Grade 8a load chain. The drop-forged steel hooks are designed to open slowly without breaking in the event of overloading.

Compactness is a feature, the minimum distance between the hooks being only 114 in., whilst with the standard length of load chain the maximum distance between them is I() ft. Greater lengths of chain may be supplied. Under full load a pull of 70 lb. is required, and a lifting speed of 4 ft. 6 in. per minute is said to be easily achieved. This increase to 11 ft. per minute on quarter-load.

A.C.V. Wall Charts WALL charts with large-scale exploded views of the major chassis components of the A.E.C. medium-weight range are now obtainable from A.C.V. Sales, Ltd., Southall, Middx.

Printed in black on stiff white paper measuring 2. ft. 6 in. by I ft. 8 in., the charts will normally be issued in sets of five for each model, covering engine, gearbox, rear axle (two sheets) and front axle. Sets immediately available are for the home and overseas Reliance with synchromesh transmission, Mercury Mark I, Mercury Mark II, and Monarchs Mark V and Mark VI.

The charts cost 12s. 6d. per set of five, including postage, or £3 if six sets are ordered at one time. Single charts will cost 3s. 6d.

New Windows .for Duple PARAMOUNT constant-balance fulldrop windows produced by the Rawlings Manufacturing Co., 106-108 Bedford Hill, London, S.W.12, have been approved by Duple Motor Bodies, Ltd., and are to be fitted as standard to a large number of coaches on Bedford and Commer, as well as heavy, chassis. An attractive feature of this type of window is its simple removal and replacement without disturbing side panels m seating.
