• The Minister of State for the Criminal Justice System, Lord Falconer of Thoroton QC is to be the keynote speaker at Commercial Motor's Corporate Manslaughter conference.

The conference, to be held on 17 September in Birmingham, alms to give operators key advice on manslaughter legislation —and information on how to reduce risks within their own companies.

Road transport solicitor Stephen Kirkbright will speak at the event, and besides looking at current legislation, he'll also examine the potential impact of proposed new laws on the matter. His colleague at law firm Ford and Warren, Chris Charlissworth, will explain to delegates what to do in the event of a fatal accident in their business.

The conference Is held Jointly with CM's stablemate Contract Journal, and will also cover risk management case studies that delegates can adopt for their own businesses.
