Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

lot tougher, says Jeremy Martell, national 11011 and plant manager at Manheim Auctions. "We'll see a hard market this summer, a hit of a pick up for two or three weeks in September, then a slide downwards for the rest of the year," he predicts.

Demand is buoyant at present for the more desirable vehicles, however.

Recent Manheim sales have seen an ERF EC11 380 8x2 tractor-2000 on a W plate—sell for £20,000. A Oaf 951F 430 4x2 tractor—same year, same plate—was disposed of for £27,500.

Scania rigids with fridge bodies are doing well too. "We've been selling 1997, P-registered, P94 260 6x2s on air suspension for from 110,000 to 113,000," Martell reports.

Martell echoes Chris Wright on the importance of preparing a truck properly prior to sale. "A thorough clean can boost the price it fetches at auction by from 5 to 7%," he estimates.
