Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Volvo Truck Finder, the truck maker's web-based used truck database, has been upgraded. There are more details on each truck featured and held in stock at dealerships, more photographs, and the site has been changed to make navigation easier for users, says Volvo.

The website (w-ww.volvo.comj truckfinder) covers the UK and Europe, and visitors can search the Volvo network for a vehicle using a number of criteria, including country, type, age, axles, and mileage.

However hauliers have yet to be convinced that its a good idea to buy a truck they've seen on the website without physically inspecting it first, says Peter Groome, UK head of asset management development. "Where that might happen is if they've already bought several trucks from a particular dealer, and they've been satisfied with them," he says.

Many hauliers who visit the site use it to locate the vehicle they're looking for, and will then contact the dealer concerned to make an appointment to come and give it a once-over in person.

Others will leave a message giving details of what they want if they can't see anything they fancy. They'll be e-mailed automatically once something is available that matches their requirements.

"If a haulier rings a dealership in search of a used truck, and he's got access to a PC, then the salesman will often suggest he visits the web Site and talk him through what's available," says Groome. That makes it a valuabie sales aid.

The site attracts thousands of visitors a month," he says.

months, Groome reports.

"We're seeing steady, sustainable growth with a big increase in interest in PMs, and FL rigids," he says. "In fact, demand for rigids is stronger than it's ever been.

"What we sell is typically five years old or

less. Anything with a curtainsider or box body usually does well, and we can sell dropsides with cranes all day long."
