• The Americans may have thew Hummer, but the British army is about to get the Iveto Daily. Alvis Vickers has been provisionally awarded a f,200m MoD contract to supply the Iveco MU (Multipurpose Lightweight Vehicle) for a variety of command and liaison functions. The 7,200kg GVW MLV features a high proportion of Daily components, including a 185hp, 456Nm version of the 2.8-litre common-rail Euro-3 engine. Following a demonstration phase, the 486 vehicles will be delivered over a period of three years, 2006 to 2009, for a planned service life of up to 30years,
