Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A FORMER DRIVER AT Thorburn Transport has been awarded more than £30,000 by an employment tribunal after it ruled he was unfairly dismissed by the firm's new owners, Caveman Consultants, The Liverpool employment tribunal rejected Caveman's argument that it was not driver Alan Pollard's employer after he produced payslips showing Caveman, which trades as The Logistix Group, had paid his wages. The tribunal awarded Pollard a total of £32.390.12.

Pollard says he felt that the new owners didn't want former Thorburn drivers at the company. He was dismissed in July 2009, virtually 10 years to the day that he started with the company.

The company claimed that Pollard was no longer competent to carry temperature-controlled pharmaceuticals, following an incident with one load.

Pollard says his claim was never about money, but to clear his name.

Caveman will face a reconvened public inquiry in front of TC Beverley Bell on 23 March.
