Mr Mason joined Wilkinson originally as a driver in 1970 and has held a variety of positions including most recently general manager at the Bristol depot.

New chairman and managing director of Greenwoods Transport is Barry Greaves, previously the director of group planning with Greenwoods' parent company, Amey Road Corporation. He succeeds Patrick Bennett who died last month.

Martin Watkins, a former passenger editor at Commercial Motor moves to Saudi Arabia this week. He takes up the post of the director of marketing at the Saudi Arabian Passenger Transport Company, Jeddah.

Leyland Vehicles, the truck bus and tractor company of BL has named Peter Rigby as its new passenger vehicle division sales and marketing manager. He has responsibility for all sales and marketing matters in the UK relating to Leyland buses and coaches.

Mr Rigby was previously Leyland regional bus sales manager in Scotland. He will be based at the passenger vehicle division's headquarters in Southall.

Seddon Atkinson has made several appointments in its production management.

Eric Melling, formerly production manager at Waltonle-Dale becomes plant manager, Oldham assemblY. Mr Melling, who has been with the company since 1951, will report to the manager of manufacturing operations. Alex McKelvie is the new works manager at the Walton-le-Dale plant. He was previously production manager at Oldham. Alan Jones becomes production manager at Oldham assembly plant, after previously holding the position of cab shop superintendent. Mr Jones joined the company in 1948.
