COMPANIES employing less than 200 people have been invited to apply for a special Export Award for Smaller Manufacturers which is sponsored by the British Overseas Trade Board.
The board has been joined by British Airways, the Association a British Chambers of Commerce and the Daily Express in the aWard scheme.
Each of the five winning companies will be given an award a.ttici a trophy and will be asked to nominate an employee from the shop floor who will receive an international holiday for two.
The aim of the new scheme is to encourage both at management and employee levels the important part that small firms play in the British export drive.
