A TYRE company at Alloa was fined at Falkirk Sheriff Court recently for having a bald tyre on one of its vehicles. The Central Tyre (Scotland) Co Ltd, of Broad Street, admitted through an agent to having a bald tyre on one of its Transit vans on June 19 this year.

The agent said that the company had experienced much embarrassment over the issue and had now set up a daily defects sheet for drivers.

Sheriff Robert Reid Kerr fined the company £10. An employee who was driving the van was admonished.
