B.M.C. Exports Set New Record: Overseas sales of B.M.C. cars and commercial vehicles in 1962 continued to rise and at nearly 275,000 units, created a new record. The assembly plant for medium and heavy commercial vehicles near Bogota, Colombia, is in full production and agreements with Ets. P. Willeme in France and Sociedad Anonima Vehiculos Automoviles (S.A.V.A.) in Spain, mean that shipments of commercials to these markets are increasing. In its first full year of production the S.A.V.A. factory at Valladolid completed nearly 2,000 B.M.C. S.A V A. vehicles.

Good Year for Ford of Germany: Total production of light commercial vehicles by Ford of Germany in 1962 was 29,697 compared with 26,321 in 1961.

Bugatti To Build Diesels: Hispano-Suiza diesel engines are to be assembled at the Bugatti factory in Molsheim, France. Production will start wtih the DOOD 60 fourcylinder unit, which has a capacity of 4-19 litres and develops 70 b.h.p. at 2,400 r.p.m.

Company Acquired: Speedograph Ltd. U.K. and Commonwealth sole concessionaires for the HICO range of recording instruments, has been acquired by G.E.C. Ingle Ltd. engineers.

Supplying Rootes and B.M.C.: A factory at Prudhoe-on-Tyne which Engineering Productions of Clevedon, Bristol, have just opened will supply customers in Scotland and Sweden including Rootes, B.M.C. and Saab.

Feco Hoists Acquired: Birfield Ltd. has purchased the total issued share capital of Felco Hoists Ltd.
