cations for new licences resulted in objections by British Railways and several road operators being withdrawn at Darlington on Wednesday,
Mr. George Teesdale Davidson, of Parsonage House, East Layton, Richmond (Yorks), was granted a new B licence for three vehicles to regularize his position with Slater and Co. (Limestone) Ltd., for whomhe had been working under short-term B licences for some time.
Mr. I. Robey, for British Railways, and other objectors, said that the objection would be withdrawn if the licence was granted for lime and limestone work to spreaders and road construction sites within 50 miles of East Layton.
Objections were also withdrawn in the case of a short-term B licence for three trucks for Mr. A. Blair, a demolition and plant hire contractor of Darlington. The user is to handle materials and plant for construction and site preparation on roads and buildings in the North and West Ridings of Yorkshire, and Durham. However, tipping trucks have not to be substituted during the term of the licence.
