• Securiguard's communictions division, which includes the City Link parcels business and five smaller same-day delivery companies, saw its yearend profits fall by nearly 30%, to 2800,000.
This was despite a huge jump in turnover, from 28.8m in 1989 to 219.4m.
Securiguard says the division has been hit hard in the second half by the slowdown in the economy, but is confident that it will increase its operating profits this year.
