BEXLEY magistrates again adjourned a case involving a transport operator from Welling, Kent, because, owing to an "administration oversight," the court was unable to find enough time to deal with the matter. The principal clerk of the court apologised to prosecuting and defence solicitors for the "unfortunate" incident.

Alan Brooks faces 17 charges which the court part-heard on September 3. The case was due to continue on October 8 but was adjourned on that occasion following a request by Mr Brooks's solicitor.

The charges include failing to cause drivers to enter the relevant information in drivers' record books; unlawfully, with intent to deceive, using an operator's licence; knowingly making a false statement — that he was a director of G.
