A REGISTER for drivers needing work has been started by a Yorkshire couple aiming to help unemployed drivers. The Freight Drivers Register charges a £5 registration fee but no fee if a job is found. Already the Register has several hundred drivers on it.
Applicants are classified into the areas and the kind of work they want to do and their names passed to prospective employers on that basis. The Register can be contacted at Broad Close, Kirby Fleetham, North Yorkshire.
