Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WITH REFERENCE TO your piece about Northants Police ('Mermaid reveals that two thirds of lorries have faults' CM 18 September), I have had a number of complaints from the Professional Drivers Association (PDA).

As a result, it has penned an open letter for publication to Northants Police: -Dear Chief Constable Peter Maddison We are contacting you on behalf of the Professional Drivers Association. We have noted that you issued a statement regarding a spate of thefts from HGVs in your area, which are currently still under investigation.

With the run-up to Christmas, we are now starting to see larger quantities of valuable/ desirable goods under our responsibility, and security is at the forefront of our thinking when choosing a suitable place to park for the night.

Our members will be delivering hundreds of loads to the Northamptonshire region between now and new year. As such, we would like to ask what secure parking facilities there are in your region and which are available for the use of HGVs needing to stop overnight? If you could provide us with such locations, we are sure to be able to work with you to reduce HGV-targeted crime in your region.

We look forward to your response.

Kind regards, The Professional Drivers Association" Toby Francis
