• When the express carriers group of the Road Haulage Association has its preconference meeting in the Palace Hotel, Torquay, on October 19, 2.30 p.m., it will be addressed by three speakers. The first will be Mr J. M. Silbermann, managing director of the Brent group of companies, discussing the implications of reducing the minimum age for lorry drivers to 18.

The managing director of BRS Parcels Ltd, Mr S. White, will speak on the national network of smalls and parcel carriers, and Mr J. T. Brown, managing director, Atlas Express Ltd, will address the meeting on security for the express carriers.
