T Edinburgh on Monday the Scottish 1 Licensing Authority, Mr. W. F. uin, refused to grant an application, as ,ted, for E. and A. Hunter of Lauriston. Ilkirk, seeking a B licence for eight viers of 34,4 tons. on road and building td excavated materials to the extent of I per cent within 25 miles, and the dance of 20 per cent within 100 miles; granted, the firm would surrender hides under Contract A for Johnstons id Paton Ltd. (builders merchants), rangemouth, and Craigend Brickworks .d., Larbert.

For the applicant, it was shown that e company had built up a fleet since abruary, 1963, and that the last vehicle had been put on very recently. Here again Mr. Quin pointed out that the Tribunal had given clear notice to licensing authorities regarding conversions from contract to normal operations within one year of taking out the contract licence.
The applicant wished to use vehicles more flexibly. it was stated. and although the restriction imposed by the Authority would defeat the fullest intentions, the applicant accepted the ruling. Mr. Quin then granted a B licence with the use of four vehicles restricted to Johnstons and Paton Ltd. and three vehicles restricted to Craigend Brickworks Ltd.
