Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE secretary of a wholesale grocery

concern said at Leeds on Monday that 83 Bradford grocers had banded together to try to stop the large inroads which were being made into their businesses by multiple stores. The company bought in bulk and then sold, from its warehouse, to its members.

He was supporting an application by Mr. M. O. Hammond, 2a Archibald Street, Listerhills, Bradford, for a B licence to carry groceries within 25 miles. Mr. J. H. Randolph, Yorkshire Deputy Licensing Authority, granted the application. British Railways withdrew their objection.

CARBURETTER FOR IMPROVED ECONOMY

A NEW carburetter produced by Solex.

Ltd., 223-231 Marylebone Road. London, N.W.1. is stated to give improved economy on many fourcylindered engines. Under full-throttle conditions it does this by reducing overrichness at lower full-throttle speeds whilst providing a more economical cruising mixture without loss of fullthrottle power.

The carburetter is known as the Econostat, and does not employ any moving parts to achieve additional mixture control. As the unit requires careful setting, it will be offered initially only to vehicle manufacturers.
