Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• To avoid confusion with Passenger Transport Authorities, frequently referred to as "PTAs", the Public Transport Association is to change its title, after a quartercentury, to "The Public Road Transport Association". This is revealed in the Association's annual report.

Along with other operator organizations, the Association is currently seeking simplification of the present method of computation of the fuel tax rebate. The capital grants for expenditure on public transport come under strong criticism; in particular the small rate of grant for bus .stations as compared with railway stations, and also the exclusion from the scheme of maintenance depots and central workshops.

Referring to standard bus grants, the Association considers that, the main principles having been laid down, the Grant Scheme should not be dependent upon too precisely drawn and detailed specifications.

Despite the recommendation of the Decimal Currency Board that there should be no compensation in any circumstances for the cost of changing to decimal currency, the Association, with other operator associations. is to press its own case in respect of the very considerable cost of conversion in which p.s.v. operators will be involved.
