• Plans for spending £2m or, the expansion of production facilities for Albion trucks in Scotland were revealed by Mr. Ronald Ellis, managing director of the truck and bus division of British Leyland Motor Corporation, last Friday. This will cover the purchase and equipping of some 300,000 sq. ft. of factory previously occupied by Harland and Wolfe opposite the present Albion works in Scotstou n, Glasgow.

Mr. Ellis was speaking during a Press visit to Leyland Motors (Scotland) Ltd. at Bathgate where more than 2m is being spent on plant and buildings, new cab installation and buildings to house design, research and development staff for trucks and tractors. At full capacity, the cab section will produce 1,000 units a week.
