A HEAVY-DUTY off-road 6x4 tipper chassis has been added to the Renault Truck and Bus UK product range, and will make its debut at Tipcon.
The vehicle, Berliet GBH 280, is rated at 32.5 tonnes (32 tons) gvw for site work and is powered by a six-cylinder 198kW (266bhp) turbocharged power unit.
Transmission is through a ZF 5K 110GP gearbox which drives a tandem bogie com prising two Renault group 13.2-tonne (13-ton) double reduction axles. with a final drive ratio of 8.44 to 1 and a differential lock.
Front suspension is by leaf springs and telescopic dampers. Oscillating leaf springs are used at the rear.
The chassis cab is available in left or right-hand drive and its overall length is 8.12m (26ft 8in). Length of the chassis from the back of the cab is 5.24m (17ft 2in). It tips the scales at 8.6 tonnes (8.5 tons) unladen.
