REFUSING an application from Mr. J. Procter, cattle haulier, of Great Eceleston, for an extension of his radius from 25 to 150 miles, the North-western Deputy Licensing Authority said that the Road Haulage Executive, from the evidence given, could provide adequate and suitable facilities.

For the applicant it was stated that during the past two years many of his customers had changed over to attested cattle, and the variation of his B licence was required to enable Mr. Procter to bring attested cattle from southern Scotland. Otley and Crewe, Existing facilities for transporting attested cattle were alleged to be unsatisfactory.

Giving decision, the Deputy Licensing Authority, Mr. L. Walsh, said that Mr. Procter was trying to anticipate the change to attested cattle. [Cattle are exempt traffic under the Transport Act.]
