• Badgerline has received 10 of an order for 24 Optare StarRiders for use as stage carriage vehicles and private hire. Of the buses 20 will be used on Badgerline routes, while the remaining four have coach specification for private hire work.
All vehicles are powered by the Mercedes-Benz 0M364A engine which, being a four-litre turbocharged unit, produces almost 90kW at 2,600rpm driving through a manual fivespeed Mercedes-Benz gear box. The vehicles have additional braking power as integral eximast brakes, operated from the foot brake, are fitted.
The 33-seat buses (29 seats on the four high-spec vehicles) have Thennalwerke convector heating systems which run along the body sides beneath the seats and are regulated by a thermostatic valve which allows constant control.
Tinted windows are fitted as standard and floors are covered with Treadmaster throughout.
