III The Isle of Mann's Tynwald island parliament has decided that trucks registered there must be used mainly on the island, otherwise their licences will not be renewed, according to ITF Nevvs.
The International Transport Federation journal's May edition reports that this clampdown follows police checks on Manx-registered vehicles on the UK mainland showing that most vehicles with Manx number plates had never been anywhere near the island, while many others had out of date discs and incorrect permits.
