• While exhibits of commercial vehicle interest at The Royal Show this year are not indicative of a pronounced trend, they exemplify a continuing ingenuity on the part of bodybuilders and equipment makers in catering for the needs of the operators of agricultural road vehicles. The Royal opened on Tuesday at the National Agricultural Centre, Kenilworth, and closes today. A notable absentee, the Richardson group of companies was to have exhibited a hundred vehicles, but the entries were withdrawn at the last moment, partly because permission could not be obtained to fly customers to the Show by helicopter.
