Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Since CM highlighted the problem of lighting low-loader trailers during loading operations (CM5-11 September 2002), Andover Trailers has been looking for a solution to the dilemma. Its solution is currently undergoing operational trials and is expected to be available within a matter of weeks.

The new rear light clusters are designed to be unclipped and relocated to the side of the deck while the ramps are lowered, when their normal position is obscured. The design was suggested by Terry Beasley, MD of T&M Plant in Horley, Surrey T&M is one of Andover's longest-standing customers and is conducting the trial on a new step-frame trailer.

With no external parts to be disconnected-and therefore lost—the lights can be relocated in seconds. On completion of the trial, Andover will offer a retro-fit kit incorporating new lights, brackets and fixings. If the system is adopted it will be provisionally priced at around £275-300 on a new trailer—retrofit price will be on application.
