Reaping what you sow

-Vour survey (CM 2-8January) showing that far more hauliers are true blue than Labour isn't all that surprising, but it is a bit depressing. We have seen over the past 15-odd years that the Tories, for all their talk, are unlikely to give the industry the legislation it needs on matters like enforcement, fuel duty and protection against bad debtors. So if hauliers are not prepared to register their objection at the polling booths, they can hardly complain when they reap the results.

Perhaps our only hope is that nonhauliers will vote in another Government, and that this Government will be one that actually does what it says it will do.
