IN an effort to prevent lorries from being parked in residential areas. Sedgley Urban District Council has sent a test case to Staffs Planning Committee. This follows complaints by householders about noise caused by lorries starting in the early morning.
The council wishes the committee to call the parking of lorries "development of the area," so that drivers can be served with notices to cease parking until they have permission to do so.
Many lorry drivers living in the district leave ,their vehicles outside their homes instead of returning to their garages, and in doing so have an extra hour or so at home.
