Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE possibility of banning certain classes of light commercial vehicles from the 1961 Lorry Driver of the Year competition was discussed at a meeting of the Executive Committee held in Coventry last week.

Other points raised were that the final should be held on Sunday, September 17 —at Fort Dunlop, if possible; that the safety-cab contest should be simplified and reorganized; and that invitations should be extended to the first three successful contestants from any competitions that may he held in Scotland, Northern and Southern Ireland and the Isle of Wight. • The recommendations concerning the exclusion of certain vehicles instanced Karricr Bantam, Jen-Tug and other light articulated tractive units as having an unfair manceuvrability advantage over other artics in Class Fl. Already Scammell Scarab three-wheeled tractive units are barred from this class.

It was decided also to look into the position with regard to certain types of light van falling into Class A, it being felt that some of the smaller vans were too light in terms of the competition in general.
