• Scottish Bus Group sub sidiary Northern Scottish has taken delivery of fourteen new Leyland Olympian double deckers.
Eight of the vehicles are finished in a new Citybus livery for Aberdeen city services, while six are fitted with coach seats for country and commuter routes to and from the town.
• West Midland Passenger Transport Executive has announced that the present system of advance payment bus/rail Travelcards will cease on deregulation day (October 26).
However it will be replaced by a new system to be valid on West Midlands Travel buses and BR local services in the area. The new system (which will only be valid on WMT buses in the area) will be slightly more expensive than the present scheme.
